Madame Mediocre

Let me start by saying I am a long time, die-hard Madonna fan. But this time was a dud at best. We got tickets for one of her shows in Las Vegas and were Uber excited for the weekend. We had a great time in Vegas enjoying other things the city had to offer and expected the concert to be the high point. Well it wasn’t. To start he theatre was about 85°. The staff at Caesar’s told us this was at Madonna’s request because she was cold. The concert began late, although not the 2 hours late it started her first show in Vegas, but still late, showing she doesn’t care about her fan base at all. And then there was the performance itself. This is where we get to the mediocre part. The show lacked the “UMPH” factor that Madonna’s live events are known for. She sang way too much music of her new album which made the show boring at times. I like several songs off of Madame X, but not the entire album. The few classics she threw in were also lacking. Vogue was a truncated version and lacked the pizazz that song is normally given. The one sweet spot in the show was Like A Prayer which we enjoyed. The last thing is that her voice was not good. I don’t know if she’s is getting sick, which would suck for fans so early in the tour, or if she doesn’t have the vocal skills left for live shows. So overall, not Madame X but more like Madame Mediocre.
